The Country Cookie was established in 2016 yet my passion for baking and the warm hospitality you will find at my cookie stand go back for years. My recipes have earned blue ribbons and grand champion honors in the Harford Country Farm Fair, the Maryland State Fair, and the Baltimore Sun holiday cookie contest. I use high quality ingredients and a caring touch to ensure the cookies taste delicious and are packaged with loving care. I have been a vendor at the Havre de Grace Farmers Market since 2017. It is my joy to share cookies with you!
In 2019 I came alongside Missions of Hope International (www.mohiafrica.org) in Kenya to offer support with the development of a Baking Skills Training program, which officially launched in early 2020. Through this training, students are empowered with marketable skills and hope for the future. Students can complete a variety of certifications as well as culinary and hospitality training. A second training class launched in rural Turkana in 2023 and a third class began in January 2024 in Kiwandani. I travel to Kenya two to three times a year to spend time offering onsite encouragement, teach new recipes, and dream with the staff about the ongoing growth of the program.
